You Know What They Say, Blondes Have More Fun #ShiftAShade
My journey to re-embracing my blonde roots began last November when Clairol helped me shift a shade lighter than my [at the time] current shade of dark brown. Well now that we are heading in the summer season I once again turned to Clairol and the wonderful James Corbett to take my hair even lighter, closer to my original blonde roots.
The idea of going blonder was something I’ve been tossing around for a few months now but my choice was sealed when I met the beautiful Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) who recently trusted Clairol’s Nice & Easy to take her from her red locks back to blonde. I figured if she can do it so can I. What I did want to avoid is pulling a Kim Kardashian and bleaching the hell out of my hair.
My path to lighter hues included Nice & Easy Sunkissed 6.5GN for all over color and for highlighting the Hairpainting by Nice ‘n Easy was used in strategic places around my face.

After a few hours of waiting and chatting, it was time for the reveal. It has been a good 10-years since my hair was any kind of all over blonde so the excitement I was feeling was like when I get a new handbag that I’ve been longing over.

The overall outcome was amazing. I feel like I have the shade of blonde that I wanted and it was done in a way that wouldn’t kill my hair. What is even better is up-keep is going to be super simple since all of the shades used are available at my local drug-store.
