The Bucket Bag – Spring’s New “IT” Bag

If I’m being completely honest, the bucket bag is the one handbag style I haven’t fallen totally in love with. It was just always a style that seemed clunky to me.  Boy was I wrong.

My “A-Ha” moment with the bucket bag came when chatting with Jordan Reid from Ramshackle Glam at last weekends DKNY shopping event. The bucket bag came up and I mentioned its the one style I don’t own.  I just couldn’t take my eye off the geometric print bucket bag from DKNY’s spring collection. Taking the plunge I purchased the bag and then headed home to do some research about this bag and quickly found that it seems to be this season’s “IT” bag.

So which ones should you spend your hand earned money on and welcome into your handbag wardrobe?  Check out my picks for the top bucket bags for Spring 2015.

Snob Essentials “Andie” Handbag

I’ve been a fan of the Snob Essentials handbag line since it debuted last year, so naturally when I look for budget friendly bag, I look to Tina and Kelly.  The “Andie” bag is their bucket bag for the spring, is under $100, and comes in six color combos (my favorite is the soft pink).

Dooney & Bourke Nylon Drawstring in Mint

Mint is such a fresh color for spring so why not use this fun bucket bag to add a pop of color to your look?

DKNY Geo Print Bucket Bag

This is the one that I purchased. I love the geo-print and the pop of color in the red handle/straps. Keep an eye for how I style it with other pieces in my wardrobe.

Rebecca Minkoff Moto Bucket Bag

Perforated leather automatically adds a bit of edge to a look. Naturally I look to Rebecca Minkoff to supply me with a bag that looks effortlessly cool.

Who doesn’t love a mini bucket bag? Plus, everyone always needs a basic black handbag.
