STYLE | I Modeled for Simply Be #SimplyLoveMyBody

Every now and then, when I am not busy playing with new makeup, I pull out my model training and do a little plus size modeling. A few weekends ago I got the opportunity to be a visibly plus size model  for a SimplyBe USA video showing off some swimwear picks for the Summer 2017. It was fun filled afternoon with some other fantastic and beautiful girls: Frankie Tavares, Michele Hilton, Jezra, and Vanessa Mays. The concept was the brainchild between Plus Model Magazine editor Madeline Jones and stylist Allie McGevna.

If you are asking yourself, “wow this is great but is this really a big deal?”, the answer is yes. The plus size community is always talking about how they want retailers to use real, visibly plus size (meaning size 18+) models to show off collections; however, when retailers do it there is little to no reaction. That is why it this campaign is so important. We need everyone to share, like, comment and then tell their friends to do the same so that SimplyBe and other plus size retailers will be more open to using visibly plus size models for their websites, lookbooks, and advertising campaigns.
