Outfit Inspiration ~ Life is Like a Box of Chocolates
Kate Spade New York is known of their fun, whimsical bags and statement clutches. One of my favorites from the Fall 2015 collection was the box o’ chocolates clutch. There is just something about that clutch that says fun and date-night ready. So using this as my inspiration I put together a chic look with the clutch as the main focal point.
Dress: Simply Be Lavish Alice Cape Dress – I love a good cape dress. They are simple and chic yet they have structure. Plus they work perfectly on late summer/early fall evenings when you don’t need a jacket but yet you still need some kind of coverage.
Shoes: DKNY Erika Ankle Boot – You really can’t go wrong with a simple bootie seeing as they work with just about everything.
Clutch: Kate Spade New York Crème de la Crème Clutch – The focal point of this outfit, the only problem is I really want a box of chocolates after looking at it for too long.
Sunglasses: Chloè Butterfly Pink Sunglasses – Pink sunnies are the perfect compliment to this look (if you’re wearing this during daylight hours). Black would a tad too harsh but this light pink/blush just gives a good flow.
Nails: London Town lakur in Portobello Plum – Give the red nails a break and go with a plum, which is a great fall color option. I’m really digging the lakur polish from London Town, it has a 9-free formula and great color options, plus it gives you a fun British vibe.
Bracelet/Charms: Pandora “Art of You” Summer Collection – Since the clutch is making a big statement, accessories should be kept to a minimum. The leather wrap bracelet from Pandora is a great option. You can wear it as is or get a few charms to a mix-n-match feel.
Lips – COVERGIRL Star Wars collection lipstick in Purple #50 (available Sept. 4) – Another great trend for fall is purple or berry lip colors. COVERGIRL has a great option in their limited edition Star Wars collection. It’s not too light (which gives off a ‘Death Becomes Her Vibe’) or too dark (which can read GOTH), so to quote Goldilocks “Its just right”.
