OOTD | Disneyland Style

On the off chance you don’t follow me on Instagram (@mistimichellexo if you’re wondering), than I just got back from Disneyland. It’s been 20+ years since I’ve visited the Disney motherland, and naturally I planned out my looks ahead of time.
If you saw my post a few years back over on DisneyStyle, you’ll know I like to plan out or theme my looks when I visit the Disney parks. So, just like my 2016 WDW trip was like 95% Minnie Mouse, my 2018 Disneyland trip was 100% Spoopy.
Jack Skellington DisneyBound

I really only did one actual DisneyBound look during my trip. I only had so much room in my carry-on so trying to fit 3+ DisneyBound looks and my Halloween costume was a bit much. So I decided to just do one DisneyBound look and read on to see the rest.
Since the spoopy season is upon us, I really wanted do something from either Nightmare Before Christmas or Hocus Pocus. I mean both films did turn the big 25 this year. My choice was made when I saw this black & white pinstripe jumpsuit from Torrid. You can ask Tammy but like the second I saw it in my email, I said “ooh, perfect for Jack Skellington”.

I kept the overall look pretty simple, but just adding a black belt and some killer “Ghost Pup” ears from Aloha Ears featuring “Zero”. Overall I was pretty happy with the look. I might actually style it again now that the Loungefly x Nightmare Before Christmas collection has been Released.
OhYeah…Style
Oh Yeah Apparel is one of my go-to indie stores fro “magically inspired” clothing and they came out with some great Halloween designs. I love their original “So Minnie Reasons” design and was thrilled they put a spoopy twist on it. They also released some shirts celebrating Nightmare, which of course I couldn’t pass up.

For the first 1/2 of our DCA day, I wore the Halloween “So Minnie Reasons” shirt. I styled this shirt with some ears from Whimsy in Wonderland that feature the famed Haunted Mansion wallpaper with a Mickey Mouse twist. Also added were a pair of classic black capri style pants. I loved how look played off in front of the famed DCA Blue Wall (and the new Buzz Lightyear wall).

The second half spent in DCA, I switched it up to the “This is Halloween” shirt. It’s one of my favorite songs from the film. I styled this with the same black capri pants but I did switch out the ears here. I opted for the Candy Corn Minnie Ears that are sold currently in the parks. In fact these are the only pair of “official” ears I wore all weekend. I loved this look in front of the new Pixar Pier background or brewing a batch for deadly poison.

It’s All a Bunch of Hocus Pocus
What, you didn’t think I’d forget about the Sanderson Sisters did you? I’ve literally been waiting a year for the Black Flame candle shirt from Whosits & Whatsits to come back. In fact I had a calendar reminder set to purchase. I knew when I started planning this Disneyland Halloween trip a year ago, I wanted to wear this shirt.

Styling this, I wanted a bit more “edge” and I found these awesome mesh/shredded leggings from Torrid that gave me the look I wanted. I also grabbed the “It’s Lit” ears (also from Aloha Ears). I was actually shocked that Disney hadn’t make any Hocus Pocus ears for the 25th anniversary. The Aloha design features the Sanderson Sisters and Boooook.

I wore this on sadly our last day but funnily enough ran into two other people in the parks wearing the exact same shirt. It was random and awesome at the time. Plus The Evil Queen herself approved of the look.

Overall my Disneyland Halloween experience went by too fast but I’m for sure not waiting another 20yrs to go back. Make sure to check out Oh Yeah Apparel, Whosits & Whatsits, Whimsy in Wonderland and Aloha Ears. They all have fabulous designs.
