NYFW: Christian Siriano Fall 2015
If the Christian Siriano Fall 2015 collection would have a song it would be “Welcome to the Jungle“. Sure its a little bit meta considering that the main inspiration for this collection was the Congo Jungle but still it works.
The collection is full of animal striped frocks made out of cashmere and alpaca; everything from tiger to zebra to leopard and panther hit the runway. The most interesting pieces were made with ostrich feathers, the black base of the dresses with the sliver feathers on top provided not just great movement but also reminded me of the famed Silver Back Gorilla’s that call the Congo their home.
As always Christian ended his collection with his show stopping gowns that we’ve all come to love. Full of volume and structure, these gowns are quickly becoming a main-stay on the red carpets, and we expect nothing less from Mr. Siriano.
