#NOFOMO Swim, Sun, Fun with #TargetStyle

Ladies, it’s time to have a REAL chat about swimwear. Swimwear is one of the most dreaded items of clothing I have to shop for and it’s been that way since I was a kid. Some people actually dread the swimming all together. Although, that mindset can be changed completely by having private swimming lessons Coast2Coast. When I was younger I was tall and lanky, which made it impossible to find a swimsuit that fit me right; one–pieces were too short in the torso and tankinis weren’t really a thing yet – fun times, I’m telling you. Now as an adult, I’m still tall but I’m also plus-size, which adds just another layer to the frustration pile. I remember that one summer I forgot my swimsuit when I went to visit my family in Denver, so I figured I’d make a quick run to the mall to pick one up. 5 stores later I ended up with a mismatched tankini that was lumpy and bumpy; I think I only wore it once the whole week.

Thankfully it seems like the plus-size swimsuit game is changing, in a good way. There are so many options these days as opposed to even like 2 or 3 years ago. The place I’ve found that has the widest variety of plus-size swimwear options that are not only stylish but also affordable is Target. To prove my point, I tried on 3 different styles from Target Swim’s Ava & Viv line to show just how amazing they are. Plus, Target’s free shipping and return policy makes trying on options till you find the right fit as painless as possible.

Look 1: The One-Piece

Remember how I said one piece’s were impossible as a kid? While those issues are gone with this little number. The twist and ruching in the front is great at hiding those areas that I want to hide. Plus the solid black on the sides is very slimming.

Look 2: The Tankini

The tankini is my first love in swimwear, and this crochet number is my new favorite. It’s so comfy and also has a retro look to it. Come summer time this is going to be my ultimate “chill by the pool” swimsuit.

Look 3: The Strapless

This animal print strapless tankini is like the perfect beach/boating suit. The slightly sheer mesh overlay makes it so light and airy – I can just picture myself laying out on the open water in this baby. If strapless isn’t for you, don’t worry this suit comes with removable straps.

When it comes to shopping for a new swimsuit I usually try on at least 4 different styles, as you never know which one will fully work for you. If you don’t feel comfortable in the swimsuit when your first try it on, you’re not going to feel your best outside of the dressing room; go with what makes YOU comfortable. Always look in the 360 mirror so you can see all angles; trust me, it’s important to know how the swimsuit looks from behind.

So, now that I have not one but three new swimsuits, I feel like I am all stocked up for summer and really need to fast forward through these winter months so I can have fun in the sun. Thanks to Target Swim and #NOFOMO, I am ready to hit the beach more, chill out on those rooftop pools I’ve been avoiding, and even just go chill out in the park with a good book for a few hours.
