TRUTH: When it comes to wearing denim, I’m the typical jeans + tee-shirt girl. I like my jeans comfy, in a light wash and paired with a equally comfy shirt. That might be why I love these distressed AVA & VIV skinny jeans from Target so much. I can honestly say I’ve never worn a pair of skinny jeans that didn’t require the “jean lunge”, you know the move, you pull on a new pair of skinnies and have to do lunges and other crazy moves to break them in.  These babies pretty much came pre-broken in.

These jeans are the bases of my summer casual look. I paired them with a super relaxed shirt, a pair of white sandals and because I’ve been in a mint mood lately, a fun mint satchel.

DARE: The denim skirt has always been a mystery to me. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve never found one that fit just right or was the color, but somehow when I tried to think of the last denim skirt I wore I couldn’t think of anything past 6th grade.  So I dared myself to not only try a denim skirt this summer but also to try some darker wash denim.  I managed to accomplish both with an AVA & VIV skirt from Target.

I decided to go all out and plan a full summer look around this skirt. I found a super cute peachy/pink top, some canvas sneakers, and my trusty mint satchel and BOOM I have a fun, flirty but casual summer look that will take me from errands to drinks with the girls in no time.
