DIY Galentine’s Day

Back in my Denver days I lived just a hop, skip, and jump away from my BFF Brittany and as luck would have it, most of the time we were both single come Valentine’s Day. Instead of wallowing in self-pity we decided that we just start are own thing on V-Day and thus the Misti & Brittany Galentine’s Day was born.

Our night was simple we’d pop a bottle (or two) of bubbly, order from our favorite Thai/Chinese joint, and pop in a some kind of comedy or action flick (we had a no rom-com rule) and that was it. It was simple, fun, and was better than me sitting on my couch eating my weight in boxed candy.

Sadly Britt and I haven’t celebrated our Galentine’s Day together in a few years but that doesn’t mean I’ve given up totally on our annual girls day. So in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, I’ve put together all the ingredients you need to have your own Galentine’s Day, with or without your BFF.

Henri Bendel Champagne Candle – This is actually one of my favorite candles year-round but it’s totally worthy of Galentine’s Day don’t ya think.

Moet & Chandon Impérial Rosé – Bubbly is a must have so treat yourself and bust out a little Moet Rosé, trust me it’s worth it.

P.F. Chang’s Orange Chicken – Yes I know I live in NYC and Chinatown is just subway ride away but I’ve yet to find a Chinese place I really love so I’ve improvised and go with P.F. Chang’s At Home Orange Chicken. It’s yummy, so don’t judge.

Zoolander – Since we had a no rom-com rule Britt and I usually went with a comedy, so this year why not go for Zoolander, then go see Zoolander 2, it works on so many levels.
