BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2014
BCBGMAXAZRIA celebrates its quarter-century in the industry with their fall 2014 runway collection, inspired by the pieces which have helped turn the company into a name synonymous with accessible luxury. The intent: create a season that embodies the “DNA of the brand.”
BCBG returns to an extensive use of fur: fox, toscana, shearling, raccoon and rabbit. These fury garments come in shocking colors and are proportioned in enormous volume. The best piece to accentuate this description in the striped Mongolian parka which is possibly the largest and brightest parka I have ever seen in my life. Meaning, not only will you be easily spotted in the next polar-vortex blizzard, but you might just even be warm too. See, who says high fashion can’t be practical?
Other stand out details of this collection are the use of color blocking, asymmetrical cuts and patterns, as well as the flowing silhouettes of caftan and crepe dresses.
