Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap – Its All Connected

So remember a few weeks back when I asked how the last few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would connect with Avengers: Age of Ultron? I believe my words were “…how will this factor into Avengers: Age of Ultron? We all know everything in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is connected and that included the TV off-shoots…”. Well BOOM, drop the mic, I was right. ITS ALL CONNECTED.
Lets rewind shall we. Skye inhuman friend Lincoln and Mike “Deathlock” Peterson have been take by Hydra’s Dr. List, who has taken on a creepy love of Whitehall’s “trial through experimentation” method. Poor Mike has had his leg and eye taken while Lincoln is being prepped for “surgery”. Meanwhile back at Afterlife Ranch, Skye is trying to talk Gordon into taking her back into the real world to save Lincoln, but its not until Reina’s vision of Skye working with Team Coulson (saving Lincoln) that seals the deal.
Over at S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson is sweet-talking Gonzales into letting him take his original team out to the Arctic to rescue Mike and Lincoln. After the vote and a little groveling to May, away they go, the original six back together again only with triple the trust issues then they had before.
We’ll fast forward through the part where Team Coulson saves everyone and Skye briefly used her newfound quake power, because it’s really that last 10-minutes that make it all worth while.
Coulson had a secret agenda for getting into the Hydra base, it was to download a bunch of information off the computer system, including where Hydra is keeping the “twins” (aka Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) and Loki’s scepter, you know that one that killed Phil Coulson. At the same time, Reina gets another vision about a metal man (aka Ultron) who wants to tear the earth down, saying the world will never be the same again.
After dropping the “Nick Fury is still alive” bomb on Gonzales and Bobbi, Coulson takes a call with Maria Hill, who asks if the Theta Protocol is done and what should be do next. The response “It’s time to gather The Avengers”.
So there you go, now we just have to see if next few episodes S.H.I.E.L.D. will mention anything about what happens in Age of Ultron.
